Usage Note

Ammonire means both to give a personal warning and to issue an official caution — a referee ammonisce a player (shows a yellow card), a teacher ammonisce a student. It is a -ire verb conjugating with the -isc- infix in the present: ammonisco, ammonisci, ammonisce, ammoniamo, ammonite, ammoniscono.
