Usage Note
Anno follows standard masculine patterns: l'anno scorso (last year), l'anno prossimo (next year). Its plural gli anni is regular. Learners sometimes confuse anno with età (age); Italian says ho vent'anni (I'm twenty years old), literally 'I have twenty years' — not ho vent'anni di età.
Examples
"Quest'anno vado in Italia."
Natural Translation
This year I'm going to Italy.
