Also means
to get angry
Usage Note
Arrabbiare is almost always used reflexively as arrabbiarsi (to get angry): mi sono arrabbiato (I got angry), using essere as auxiliary. The non-reflexive form arrabbiare (to anger someone) is less common. The past participle arrabbiato is widely used as an adjective meaning 'angry'. Alla arrabbiata (or all'arrabbiata) is also a spicy tomato pasta sauce — literally 'angry style'.
Examples
"Mi sono arrabbiato per il ritardo."
Natural Translation
I got angry because of the delay.
Literal Translation
Myself I-have angered for the delay.
