Artigiano refers to a skilled manual worker who makes things by hand, often in a small workshop. Italy's economy has a strong artigianato (craft/artisan) tradition. The feminine form is artigiana. Fatto a mano da un artigiano (handmade by a craftsman) is a prized label for Italian goods. Plural: artigiani (m), artigiane (f).
