assomigliare

to resemble

verb ahs-soh-mee-LYAH-reh Rare

Also means

to look like

Usage Note

Assomigliare takes the preposition a: assomigliare a qualcuno ('to resemble someone'). It is intransitive and takes avere as auxiliary. The reflexive assomigliarsi means to resemble each other. It is NOT reflexive in the base form — a common learner error is to add si when describing resemblance to one person.

Examples
