Usage Note
Ballerino is the masculine form; the feminine is ballerina. It refers to a professional dancer or, in informal use, anyone who dances. Note that ballerina has been borrowed into English with a narrower meaning (a female ballet dancer), but in Italian it covers all styles of dance and both genders when the feminine form is used.
Examples
"Il ballerino si esibisce sul palco ogni sera."
Natural Translation
The dancer performs on stage every evening.
