Bandire has two near-opposite senses: to expel or prohibit (bandire un prodotto) and to publicly announce or open (bandire un concorso — to advertise a competition). It is a third-conjugation (-ire) verb of the isc-inserting type: bandisco, bandisci. Uses avere as auxiliary.
