Usage Note

Blindato describes vehicles, doors, or glass reinforced against attack: auto blindata (armoured car), vetro blindato (bulletproof glass), porta blindata (armoured/security door). The last is extremely common in Italian homes — the porta blindata is a standard feature of Italian apartments as a security door. The four forms are blindato, blindata, blindati, blindate.
