Bombardamento denotes both aerial bombing and artillery bombardment. Figuratively, it extends to any overwhelming barrage — un bombardamento di domande (a barrage of questions). The verb is bombardare. Do not confuse with bomba (a single bomb); bombardamento implies a sustained or repeated attack.
