Also means
quiet
Usage Note
Calmo describes both a person's composed state and a physical environment (mare calmo, calm sea; una persona calma, a calm person). As a false friend note: Italian caldo means hot/warm — learners frequently confuse calmo and caldo. Calmo agrees in gender and number: calmo / calma / calmi / calme.
Examples
"Rimani calmo e non preoccuparti."
Natural Translation
Stay calm and don't worry.
