Usage Note

Carnagione refers specifically to the natural color and appearance of a person's facial skin (una carnagione chiara = a fair complexion, una carnagione scura = a dark complexion). It is always feminine. Do not confuse it with pelle (skin in general) — carnagione refers only to facial or bodily skin tone, not to the material of skin.
