cessazione
cessation, termination
noun cheh-ssah-TSYOH-neh Rare
Origin: Latin cessatio, from cessare 'to cease'
Usage Note
Cessazione is a formal and legal term used for the official end of an activity, contract, or state — cessazione delle ostilità (cessation of hostilities), cessazione dell'attività (closure of a business). In everyday contexts Italians prefer fine or interruzione. The double 's' gives the soft 'ss' sound.
Examples

Natural Translation
