Usage Note
Dimezzare means to reduce something by half or to divide it into two equal parts: dimezzare i costi (to halve costs), dimezzare i tempi (to cut the time in half). The reflexive dimezzarsi means 'to be halved' or 'to halve itself'. It takes avere when transitive. Do not confuse with dimissionare (to resign).
