emozionare

to move emotionally, to thrill

verb eh-moht-syoh-NAH-reh Rare

Also means

to excite

Usage Note

Emozionare means to stir someone's emotions — it can be joy, excitement, or being moved to tears. The reflexive emozionarsi ('to get emotional, to be moved') is extremely common: mi sono emozionato molto ('I was really moved'). It takes essere in the reflexive. Do not confuse with eccitare, which has a sexual connotation in modern Italian.

Examples
