Enciclopedia keeps the same root as its English counterpart but note the Italian spelling with 'c' before 'i' produces the 'ch' sound: en-chee-. The plural is regular: enciclopedie. The famous Italian national encyclopedia is the Enciclopedia Italiana (Treccani), often simply called il Treccani.
