Usage Note
Faticoso describes something that requires great effort or is physically or mentally exhausting. It agrees in gender: un lavoro faticoso (m), una giornata faticosa (f). Do not confuse with stanco (tired), which describes the person who feels fatigue, not the thing causing it — il percorso è faticoso (the route is tiring) vs sono stanco (I am tired).
