genero

son-in-law

noun JEH-neh-roh Rare

Origin: Latin gener (son-in-law)

Usage Note

Genero means son-in-law, not to be confused with genero as a conjugated form of generare (to generate). The feminine counterpart is nuora (daughter-in-law). The plural is regular: generi. Note that genero and nuora are used only for the spouse of a child, not for a sibling's spouse.

Examples

"Il mio genero cucina molto bene."

Natural Translation

My son-in-law cooks very well.
