Usage Note
Impaurire means to make someone afraid. It follows the -isc- pattern: impaurisce (he/she frightens). The reflexive impaurirsi means 'to become frightened': il bambino si è impaurito (the child got frightened). It conjugates with essere in compound tenses when reflexive, avere when transitive.
