Inadempimento is a legal term for the failure to fulfil a contractual obligation — inadempimento contrattuale ('breach of contract'). The adjective inadempiente means 'defaulting, non-compliant'. It is rarely used outside legal and administrative contexts; in everyday Italian, mancanza or inadempienza may substitute.
