Usage Note

Incantare means both to enchant through magic (la strega incantò il principe = the witch enchanted the prince) and to captivate or mesmerise (la sua voce mi ha incantato = her voice captivated me). Incantato as an adjective means enchanted or spellbound. Rimanere incantato (to be left spellbound) is a common fixed expression. Takes avere as auxiliary.
