Usage Note

Incendiare is a first-conjugation verb meaning to set something ablaze. The reflexive incendiarsi means 'to catch fire'. It takes avere as auxiliary in compound tenses: hanno incendiato il magazzino. Not to be confused with incendio (the noun, 'fire/blaze').
