verb een-doo-REE-reh Rare

Origin: Latin indurare (to make hard), from durus (hard)

Also means

Usage Note

Indurire can be transitive ('to harden something') or intransitive ('to become hard'), and it uses essere in the intransitive sense (il cemento è indurito = the cement has hardened). The reflexive indurirsi means to become hardened emotionally. Do not confuse with indurre (to induce).
