Intestare means to put something officially in someone's name: intestare un conto ('to open an account in someone's name'), intestare una casa ('to register a property under someone's name'). The reflexive intestarsi means 'to register something in one's own name'. It also means 'to head a letter or document' (intestare una lettera). Conjugates with avere.
