Usage Note
Ironico describes a tone, remark, or situation characterized by irony. It agrees in gender and number: ironica (f), ironici (m pl), ironiche (f pl) — note the -che spelling to preserve the hard 'k' sound before -e. The adverb is ironicamente. Italians also use the noun ironia frequently in the phrase ironia della sorte ('irony of fate').
