Usage Note
Kebab is an invariable masculine loanword in Italian — the plural is also kebab. The Italian street-food version is typically a döner kebab in a flatbread, enormously popular as fast food. The spelling kebab is standard in Italian, though kebap and cabab also appear. Il kebab is commonly eaten as a late-night snack after a night out.
