Marrone is invariable in gender (un cappotto marrone, una borsa marrone) but has a plural marroni. It is the standard Italian word for the colour brown. As a noun, un marrone is a chestnut (the nut); colloquially in central-northern Italy marroni is a vulgar plural — be aware of register when using the noun form.
