noun nar-rah-TEE-vah Rare
Origin: From Latin narrativus, from narrare, 'to tell'.

narrative
Usage Note
Narrativa is the general Italian term for prose fiction — novels, short stories, and similar literary forms. It is more specific than letteratura (literature in general) and does not mean 'narrative' in the abstract sense of 'a narrative account' (for that, use narrazione or racconto). La sezione narrativa of a bookshop is the fiction section.
