Ortografia refers to the conventional system of spelling a language correctly. Unlike English, Italian spelling is highly regular, so ortografia errors are relatively rare among native speakers. The plural ortografie exists but is uncommon; you more often see the invariable phrase regole di ortografia (spelling rules).
