Pressante describes a demand, need, or request that cannot be ignored or delayed: una richiesta pressante (an urgent request), un bisogno pressante (a pressing need). It is invariable for gender but takes the regular plural pressanti. It is stronger in tone than urgente — implying insistent external pressure.
