Usage Note
Ricamo refers to decorative needlework and also figuratively to any intricate, fine-detail work — un lavoro di fino ricamo ('delicate, painstaking work'). The verb is ricamare (to embroider). Fare a ricamo or ricami a mano = 'hand embroidery.' Plural: ricami.
