Also means
to revive, to boost
Usage Note
Risollevare combines ri- (again) + sollevare (to lift). It is used both literally (risollevare un peso = to lift a weight again) and figuratively (risollevare il morale = to boost morale, risollevare le sorti = to turn one's fortunes around). Takes avere in transitive use; the reflexive risollevarsi takes essere.
Examples
"Quella vittoria ha risollevato il morale della squadra."
Natural Translation
That victory boosted the team's morale.
