Usage Note

Ristrutturare is the standard term for renovating a building or apartment (ristrutturare casa) and also for reorganizing a company (ristrutturare l'azienda). In compound tenses it takes avere (ha ristrutturato). The noun form ristrutturazione is very common in both real-estate and business contexts. Do not confuse with restaurare, which is used specifically for artistic or historical restoration.
