Rituale is both a noun (il rituale, a ritual) and an adjective (un gesto rituale — a ritual gesture), with a single uninflected form for both genders. As a noun the plural is rituali. It covers religious rites, social ceremonies, and habitual daily routines spoken of with mock-solemnity: il rituale del caffè mattutino (the morning coffee ritual).
