to sketch (quickly)
Usage Note
Schizzare covers two distinct senses: in everyday speech it means to squirt or splash a liquid (schizzare acqua = to splash water), while in art it means to dash off a quick sketch (schizzare un disegno). It also colloquially means to dart away quickly (è schizzato via = he bolted). It takes avere when transitive and essere when intransitive motion is implied.
