Usage Note

Segretaria is the feminine form; the masculine is segretario. In institutional contexts il/la segretario/a can refer to a party or organisation secretary (Segretario del Partito). The plural is le segretarie. Do not confuse with segreteria, which means the secretary's office or voicemail.
