Usage Note

Selvatico describes animals or plants that are wild (not domesticated): animale selvatico, erba selvatica. Applied to people it means 'unsociable, rough, feral.' It should not be confused with selvaggio, which more strongly implies savagery or primitiveness. The feminine is selvatica.
