Sensato is a classic false friend for English speakers: it does NOT mean 'sensitive' — that is sensibile. Sensato means 'sensible, reasonable, making good sense.' Una scelta sensata = a sensible choice; una persona sensibile = a sensitive person. Keep the two firmly apart.
