Usage Note
Simulato is the past participle of simulare ('to simulate, to feign') used as an adjective. It covers both technical simulation (un volo simulato = 'a simulated flight') and deliberate deception (un dolore simulato = 'feigned pain'). The related noun is simulazione. Not to be confused with stimolato ('stimulated'), which sounds similar.
