Usage Note

Sontuoso describes something impressively rich and grand — a palace, a banquet, a ceremony. It is a strong adjective; lussuoso (luxurious) is a close synonym but sontuoso carries more connotations of magnificence and visual splendour. The feminine is sontuosa, plural sontuosi / sontuose.
