Usage Note
Specificatore is primarily a technical and linguistic term: in formal grammar and generative linguistics it denotes the specifier position in a phrase structure (lo specificatore del sintagma nominale). Outside linguistics it may refer to a person who draws up specifications in engineering. It is relatively rare in everyday Italian.
