Usage Note
Stupido can be used as an adjective (una scusa stupida — a stupid excuse) or as a noun (quello stupido — that fool). It is fairly direct and mildly offensive in address; Italians also use sciocco (silly) or cretino (idiot) in similar contexts. The plural is stupidi (m) and stupide (f).
