Usage Note

Terrestre means 'of the earth' or 'land-based' as opposed to aerial or aquatic (animali terrestri, trasporto terrestre). It is also used in the astronomical sense of 'of the Earth' (la crosta terrestre = the Earth's crust). Invariable for gender; plural terrestri.
