Terrificante is an active participial adjective meaning 'that terrifies'. It is invariable for gender (un film terrificante / una storia terrificante) but changes for number (terrificanti in the plural). Do not confuse with the English 'terrific', which means excellent; in Italian terrificante is always strongly negative.
