Testimone is epicene — il testimone (m) / la testimone (f) — and applies to both legal witnesses and wedding witnesses (testimone di nozze). The plural is testimoni. In religious contexts Testimoni di Geova (Jehovah's Witnesses) uses the same word. Do not add a feminine suffix; testimona is non-standard.
