Ufficiosamente is the adverb of ufficioso (unofficial, semi-official). It is commonly used in journalism and bureaucratic Italian to flag information that comes from reliable sources but has not been formally confirmed: ufficiosamente, la decisione è già presa (unofficially, the decision has already been made). Do not confuse with officiosamente, which is archaic.
