Usage Note
Variabile functions as both a noun (una variabile = a variable, in mathematics, science, or grammar) and an adjective (tempo variabile = changeable weather). As a noun it is feminine. The plural is variabili. It is invariable in gender when used as an adjective (un fattore variabile, una quantità variabile).
