aeromobile

aircraft

noun ah-eh-roh-MOH-bee-leh Rare

Usage Note

Aeromobile is the official aviation and legal term for any aircraft — it appears in regulations, accident reports, and official documents rather than in everyday speech. Informally, Italians say aereo (plane) or velivolo (aircraft). Aeromobile covers all aircraft types: fixed-wing planes, helicopters, and airships. The plural is aeromobili.

Examples

"L'aeromobile è atterrato senza incidenti."

Natural Translation

The aircraft landed without incident.
