Usage Note
Almeno sets a minimum quantity or condition: almeno dieci minuti = at least ten minutes. It can also introduce a wish in a subjunctive construction: almeno venisse! = 'if only he'd come!' This use softens a regret or desire and is very common in spoken Italian. It is never split across two words.
