Usage Note
Annebbiare derives from nebbia ('fog') and means to make foggy, hazy, or indistinct. Reflexively, annebbiarsi is used when eyes mist over with tears (gli occhi si annebbiarono) or when the mind becomes confused (la mente si è annebbiata). It takes avere transitively and essere reflexively.
