assemblare
to assemble, to put together
verb ahs-sem-BLAH-reh Rare
Origin: From French 'assembler', from Latin 'assimulare' (to bring together).
Usage Note
Assemblare is used for physically assembling objects (assemblare i mobili, to assemble furniture) and in computing for assembling code. The noun l'assemblaggio means assembly (the process); l'assemblea means an assembly of people, which is a false friend overlap — assemblare does NOT mean to hold a meeting. Uses avere as auxiliary.
Examples
"Ho assemblato il tavolo in un'ora."
Natural Translation
I assembled the table in an hour.
